in the brass fitting. I have done this with two of my past VWs and it measures the water right as it passes the thermostat and heads into the radiator. What I mean is to cut a 1/2" section out of the top hose and use a copper T (avail at any plumbing store) that will fit both the ID of the hose and the OD of the brass fitting. Then you just solder the sensor into the T fitting and hook up the wire. Simple and easy, and best yet, measures the water in the best possible location, just as it leaves the motor.

Anyone know how I can rig up another coolant temp sensor port for my 74 tii? I have the coolant outlet with the 2 ports already used and need one more for an aux VDO gauge. Was thinking of brazing a brass ftg. to a short piece of 1 3/4" pipe and placing between top rad. hose and coolant outlet fitting.
