got a subscription to car & driver when i was 7...my aunt thought it would be more consumer reports-oriented...by then i was already well into the addiction phase...i was walking around th' house with a round plastic 10" hoop from some other toy, pretending it was a steering wheel....running around the corners to the kitchen, downshifting, etc...
