If you can remove the motor from within the car, odds are someone has replaced the motor already and modified the original heater unit.

When I did mine, I had to separate the two halves of the heater core housing (black plastic box) then drill out rivets that held the motor in place.

Still wasn't too ridiculous, despite the AC unit that had to be moved out of the way.

If you don't have AC it's easier.
