I've seen one of these installations. You need to replace the steering knuckles (the thing that sits on top of the ball joint, carrying the spindle) with e30 knuckles, so that the tie rod end connects in front of the hub rather than behind. Normally rack-and-pinion units ride forward of the wheel centerlines; I suppose it's possible to mount it behind the centerline, but then you'd need to mount it upside down, or install some reversing gear gizmo, so that the rack pushes right when the steering wheel turns left. The e30 racks push left when the wheel turns left.

Replacing the steering knucles might require you to replace the struts as well. Once all this is done, you have lots of big brake options.

I just wondered if anyone has done this before
maybe out of a 320, anyone have a kit
