I had a 34ICH on my car for about a year. It seemed OK around town, but on the freeway it barely moved. Always seemed to run lean, no matter how I fiddled with the float. I had driven an 02 with a 1-bbl Solex, and it seemed much peppier than the 34ICH.

Anyways, once I setup my 45DCOE's, performance improved dramatically. I've heard tell that they're overkill on a stock motor, but the price was right (free, except for parts).

As for the 5 speed...you can get plenty of tickets without one, no? 70mph = just less than 4000 rpm on my clock.

Congrats.

Mike

Pulled off the single barrel Weber 34 ICH and stock exhaust manifold on my '69. Got 2 barrel manifold and hogged it out to fit the carb, bolted it up, put on tii exhaust manifold, took it out for a spin and I was up to 80 before I knew it!

Damn, now I need a 5 speed!
