I am not saying you are wrong, I just want to know what your justification is. Why is it not a good idea to tow a 2002 with the front wheels up? That is where the factory put the tow hooks. I have not read anything in a manual that says not too. Why would it be any different than coasting in neutral for a REALLY long time.

The justification comes from my '02 owners manual for auto transmissions. Do not tow over 30 mph or over 30 miles. If more miles are planned then 2 pints of ATF need to be added and then drained upon arrival. I'm not an expert on the manual, but the trans is in neutral and nothing is spinning inside to keep oil going to the rear bearing. See above post on what happened when towing rear wheels down.
