The previous owner had modified the gas inlet fitting on the carb and the outlet fitting on the standard fuel pump to something other than the usual hose barb. So, I left what he did alone. I probably could have dissected it and gone the hose barb route.

For a couple of reference points, check out Jam Engineering on their pricing for new hardware. They seem to be very reasonable and have listed prices for the carb and the smaller rectangular air filter housings.

As for used equipment, I paid $250 for a modified intake manifold, carb, air filter, and fuel pump. It was a really good deal.

BTW, beware of buying used equipment sight unseen. 50% of the time, the used stuff I buy sight unseen is worthless.
