Except maybe for pre-1971, I understand all the 4 speeds were interchangeable. But even if the 4 speed is great it's only worth $ 75 - 100. If this is for your automatic, try an e21 O/D 5-speed instead -- as easy to fit into your car as a 4-speed, not much more expensive and much more civilized on the highway. ANd one day I'll get around to installing mine...
