Ok, shopped around and placed an order with La Jolla Independent (aka jstbmws). They had the cheapest. $151 plus $59 for a Pertronix unit.
They are waiting for a Pertronix order but expect me to recieve by the end of this week.

Went to adjust timing, idle speed and mixture when I saw the distributor was shot. Lots of slop and the timing mark moves all over the place. I don't want to just put on electronic replacement, but also want the advance weights etc either tested and rebuilt, or a new dizzy altogether. How much do I have to spend and where do I get it from?

Try Jack Fahuna in Reseda. I have heard that he found someone that can check the advance curve. He can probably set you up with a good dist. 818-774-0064

Whatever you get, try to go with the electronic breakerless ignition. Pertronix being about the cheapest and most reliable for daily driver. This will also be available from these suppliers.
