there is a book out about how to effectively fight speeding tickets. search amazon for it. probably worth the 25.00 or so. i heard the author on the radio and he has written all the tricks and tactics to yield not guilty or dismissal. in fact, i think i will look for it right now, and post title when i find it. good luck, by all means, take it to court. there is always the chance the officer will not show- instant dismissal: oh ya, author suggests calling precinct and ask for officer and find out when he usually works and what days he goes to court to be witness for his write ups and have your case continued, etc. until he unavailable. judges reluctant to roll over case if prosecution winess not there.
