Got it running, two things:
1. Fuse #12 was bad, didn't look bad when I first looked at it a few hours ago but when I pulled it, it had a crack in it. I replaced it.
2. The clamp on the positive side of the battery has two cables, one going to the starter and the other, a small cable going into the wiring harness running on the inside of the fender. The clamp holding the small cable had loosened up. a few turns of the wrench fixed that up and it cranked right over.

I probably will not be going to SLO for 02 Fest West. My 02 will be registered nonop soon due to the problems I'm having passing smog. I may take my bavaria to SLO or go to Baja and participate in the 50 mile bike ride (fun ride) that weekend between Rosarita and Ensenada. 02 Fest just isn't the same with out your 02.

thanks dwight for your input.
