you might want to check the 85 325e motor first if it's got the basic motronic(sensors on the bellhousing) or motronic 1.1.(sensor on the front pulley). i was told (by somebody who has done two of these conversions)that if the sensors are in the bellhousing that it's not going to fit the tranny tunnel. i'm currently in the middle of doing this conversion myself and the motor i'm using is off an 88 528e(super eta) which has the motronic 1.1. I believe all the "i" motors and the 88 325e(also super eta) also have the motronic 1.1 hth.

I might be getting a 85 325e as an engine donor for my
2002, I was wondering if there are any other parts I could use from the car? Has anyone tried converting to rear discs? What about interior items?
