Checked belt tension and cables at batt & ground. Seems o.k. there. Doesn't get discernably different lights on or off, revs up or down.

Many thanks in advance and probably a stupid question but what does 'eom' mean?

Red light - Battery Condition (Could relate to Voltage Regulator, Alternator & Battery).
