Checked belt tension and cables at batt & ground. Seems o.k. there. Doesn't get discernably different lights on or off, revs up or down.

Many thanks in advance and probably a stupid question but what does 'eom' mean?

vs. End of Message. Regardless on how they look, take them off and clean them, see if that helps the faintly glowing light dissappear. HTH (happy to help)
