Check out this website and click on the "MODS" section. Then click on "How to Hot-Rod Bosch Alternators". I did this in my 300 hp '81 Volvo 240 Turbo, gained about 15 amps (with a stock 55 amp alternator). Pretty simple if you can remove an alternator; even my simple, frail mind could handle it!
