My 79 320i has had the faint red light for 2 years now! The car has a Bosch reman alternator, new cables, all good grounds, new Delco battery, and I've had it on a AVR machine several times. Charging system works perfectly. I quit worrying about the red light. HTH, Al

Checked belt tension and cables at batt & ground. Seems o.k. there. Doesn't get discernably different lights on or off, revs up or down.

Many thanks in advance and probably a stupid question but what does 'eom' mean?
