I've got a Painless Wiring 12-circuit aftermarket fuse block, and I've decided to put it under the hood on the inside of the driver's side fender in some kind of enclosure. My car is a six-circuit '69 and I am totally bastardizing the interior switchery, gauges, indicator lights, etc., and upgrading all the associated wiring. Eventually, ideally, I'd like to replace all the wiring in the car. I was thinking about having this done for me, but after thinking about it, I don't want anybody else touching this car. To pay someone else to pay the kind of attention to detail I want to put into it (overkill city) would bankrupt the pope. I'm going to use the fuse block to protect the switch circuits, and then fuse all the relayed circuits (headlights, driving lights) seperately. Other than the obvious grommetting, wire-wrapping, anybody have any experience building their own wiring harnesses? I'd like to avoid doing this more than once, so I'm running the wiring for the fuel and ignition systems now, too, even though they wont be going in until wintertime.
