I'm not convinced that they can't be machined to fit. But if you're willing to expend the effort to machine them, you could also machine the 02 stubs with the new bolt pattern, swap inner CV's on the 02 shaft, etc. Soon I'll be swapping in a 320i LSD too. Let me know how it goes.

I want to replace my 2002 diff with a 320i unit 'cause I can get one dirt cheap. I know that the 320 unit is narrower and has a different bolt pattern on the diff flanges. I wondering if I can compensate for the difference by using the 320i stub axles. Thanks in advance.
