try working on the bilge / electrical system on a 60 year old wooden boat for the holiday weekend and you will really know what crampedspaces and tortured muscles and blind manipulations are all about. you can add the wetness factor and on top of it all, every part costs 19 times more than 02 parts. should have just driven the 02 around but the holiday traffic was a deterrent. demented restoration recessive gene forced me to do the equivalent of tearing hundred dollar bills in half under a cold shower//
Paul -

Hope it's going well now. I got mine home Saturday...and it went OK except that

- the battery was DEAD DEAD and I had to roll-start it, not daring to turn the car off until I got home.

- there was a HORRENDOUS thumping right under the center of the car...it happened 3 times. Don't know if it was guibo or center bearing or what the hell is going on down there. Car is too low for me to look until I get it on stands. Other than that, it ran beautifully.

Today I cleaned it for about 5 hours. Even started waxing the incredibly oxidized paint and realized it wasn't all that bad. Rubbing compound tomorrow to see what happens :)

Also discovered I don't have seatbelts (!), and it looks like someone ran a bar across the back (and through the panels :( ) and installed a harness. Well, I suppose I'll have to get a bar and harness too :)

Well, I'll probably start ordering stuff from you in a few months, after I get some things taken care of.
