I am sure the race guys can be more specific. But it is my understanding that a magneto generates a hotter spark, and does not require the assistance of a battery.So what? You need to run a battery anyway, and the engineers at BMW gave the engine the spark specs it requires. It just seems to me that it would be a tremendous waste of money on a street car.
