hi folks. i just put new shoes, drums, wheel cylinders and springs on my rear brakes and i feel pretty good about it...however, although i filed the edges of the linings, slackened the eccentric adjusters completely, and slid the drum over it all, even without tightening the adjusters the wheel won't move. yes, i'm in neutral, and no, the handbrake is not on. i guess it's just really tight for now but after the first mile of driving a little play will be created, right? i guess i just need reassurance before i drive the car...THANKS.leroy

Did you back off the emergency brake cable adjustment at the emergency brake lever? This needs to be done before brakes are adjusted.
Also if the brake hoses are old, they can act as a one way valve if the inside collapses. Brakes get actuated and upon release, the fluid does not return from the wheel cylinder. If you have the original lines, it's time to replace them.
