I am swapping in a '73 engine in place of the '76 on my '76 02. In making it smog-inspectable I am keeping the air pump. This means I have to transfer the front pulley off the '76 engine onto the '73.

When I installed the pulley onto the 73 engine I could easily see that the newer pulley was not going to line up with the water pump pulley. It sits about 5 mm too deep. Looking into the seating surface for the rear pulley face, it looks like the boss on the timing sprocket is higher on the 76 engine.

I figure I can just put a shim behind the pulley to put it in the right place, but thought if anyone has a better idea, or can tell me that I'm missing something important, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks
