I recentley bought the 72' tii in Seattle for $2700. You may have seen it on bimmers.com/02. The car has a little rust, but well worth the price. My girlfriend and I started the journey back the the Bay Area, and everything was going fairly smooth, until we reached the Bay Bridge. The car stuttered going up a few of those mountain passes (Shasta), and we would just look at each other withour eye's wide open, but the little '02 kept it's bearrings, and pulled through. The previous owners had the guts to drive it there, so we figured, what the hell. A mechanic in the neighborhood said he thinks the jets are spraying too much fuel into the combustion chaimber, and causes the engine to flood... the manual tells me that the throttle valve setting is not synchronised with the pump. Could it have come out of wack? Does a long drive ever effect the fuel injector's adjustment? Is there an easy solution, or is it off to Phaedrus in SF?
