You may have some legal remedies against MM. You say that it has been 9500 mi - how long has it been since they did the work ? A few things to consider:

o Were there any express warranties, subject to mileage or time ?

o Depending upon what state you are in, there may be certain consumer protection remedies, as well as procedures to follow. Here in Massachusetts, there is a consumer protection statute (c. 93A), that provides a fair amount of protection against unfair and deceptive trade practice (attorney fees and treble damages)You should consult a local attorney for advice.

o Have you provided them with a written demand to repair the problem ? Do you have written documentation of the defective work from your mechanic?

MM's silence may be some legal posturing and a general reluctance to admit responsibility for fear of the legal and financial consequences.

Good Luck !!!
