In reality, since the motor you have is carbed, the only remnant of its tii past will be the higher compression pistons. And, it's ignition needs will more closely resemble the ignition needs of the original carb'd motor.

So, a tii distributor would be innapropriate. You'd find it difficult to achieve all the advance you can actually use.

The 32/36 carb is anemic, and delivering fuel through a single 32mm (most of the time, BTW) robs low end torque.

So, go 38/38 if you don't have any emisssions testing issues.

I recently purchased an '02 with a '72 factory rebuilt Tii engine with low miles, that I'm dropping in my existing '02. The problem with it is that 0-60 it is not very impressive BUT it has a LOT of power once I'm going 70mph. It has a Weber 32/36 DGAV on it and I was wondering if I could improve its performance with a better carb and what suggestions are out there on what type I should use.
Thanks

Just read what Lee wrote about the Tii distributor.
The Tii engine I have recently aquired also does NOT have a Tii dizy but my standard '75 (old smokey) had a Tii dizy put on by the PO. Perhaps putting the Tii dizy on the Tii engine will help it from 0-60? Hmmmm vedy interesting.....and the installing the standard dizy in the standard engine will help it too?...dont know what its going to help though...it smokes too much anyway, which is why I got the Tii engine for it..
You cats are the coolest.
