Alright, I searched the archives but never got exactly the answer I was hoping for. My dome light (non sunroof '76)works in the manual position (up); and is naturally off in the middle position; but does not work with the door switch (down position). The key in the ignition buzzer works with the door switch. So, if the switch works for the ignition buzzer, does that mean that the door switch is also good on the dome light? Is the problem up in the tiny little 3 way switch on the dome light itself???

Try cleaning the contacts on the door switches. They are the push button switches in the pillar.
After playing around with the push button a little, they do come on. Any suggestions for cleaning the contacts??
Take the screw out of the switch, pull out of pillar, disconnet the wire and sray with contact cleaner or try to get a finger nail file in there and clean the contacts.
Be carefull disconnecting the wires, switch can break easily, use screwdriver to pry off or better yet leave connected if you can get to it.
