A larger anti-sway bar is a very good idea for an 02. Use a 22mm bar for street and at least a 25mm bar for track use. Neither excessive loading, fire, wind, rain or snow can materially affect the performance of a bar. A crash, however, can bend the bar so that it doesn't fit properly. Bend it back into the proper shape and it will be fine. The most important issue is mounting the bar properly. The trailing link must be horizontal to be effective. Hold off on the rear bar until you see how the car behaves with a large front bar. Rear bars are not adjustable, so you will have to order a number of diameters until you get best handling. The bar set up is very conditional on the spring rates which are being used as well as the tire grip.
Remember, unless you're at the traction limit, you cannot properly evaluate a suspension change.
