I agree. I bought the 5 speed from a junk yard. I live very close to CNPR/LJ Indpt (5 minutes) and about 30 minutes from Dave Varco (I did the webdesign for 2002parts.com), so I am in pretty good hands. I will have to open up the wallet and so who wants to help! hehehe

Ouch, such are the risks when you use used hardware. We all share the same risk. Since the driveshaft and shift tower are already modified, your best bet is another used 5 speed.

I don't know from whom you bought your 5 speed from. But, you might be better off by buying the transmission from a known reputable source. Ireland Engr, CNPR, Dave Varco, etc. will all stand behind what they sell. Wish I could tell you more.
