It turns out the tranny guts are *TOTALLY* shot. In any gear, the shaft will not spin. I am now wondering what my option are on getting a new trans. I would like to get a trans that can handle 175+ hp. If anybody has any ideas or anything, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

no motor. no trans. trans no work. thats bad.

Might be a long shot, but..
It could be the trans is stuck in two gears at the same time (reverse & some forward gear). I have seen this occur most often during shipping, where with nothing attached & no lube, a sudden jolt can slams reverse home. If it happens in the car, it causes the condition you described.
(I mention this because you did not reference any noise beforehand -- layshaft bearings would have made themselves known before they failed.)

First open the drain & fill plugs, and try to view inside for any evidence of damage. Was there any metal in the drained lube? If it all looks OK, then try to un-jam it by getting it out of reverse.
I don't have experience with the Getrag 245 (that's what you have, right?), but this works for the 265, the CR and the regular 4 speeds.

Remove the reverse lamp switch and insert a suitable drift to push reverse gear forward (disengaged). Wiggle the select rod while attempting this maneuver.
