There was a lengthy discussion of this on the bmw-uucdigest about 4 months ago. The long and short was that a Ford HID system was almost a direct 'bolt-in' for a E36 for a total cost of about $600 for both sides. The bulb in question was a 9006 style, so some work may be required to adapt it to H4, but to the positive, the E36 American stock lense/reflector assemblies do not have a 'shield' in front of the bulb like Hella's to reduce the hot-spot.

I had tried to save a copy of the article, but the .pdf file seems to have become mundged.

Cheers!

I was thinking about whiching to Xenon but I have found out that it is more complicated than I orginally thought. Does anyone if a 1976 BMW 2002D can handle it and if it can't what can be done about it so it can?

Thanks,
Danny J.
