Coatings are worth the money for the appearance factor alone, IMHO. But, the jet-hot coating is going to act as an insulator - keeping the heat in the exhaust and out of the engine compartment.

Uncoated headers WILL burn off the finish and eventually rust (unless they are stainless in which case they will turn blue if your mixture ever goes even a little bit lean). They will remain presentable indefinately if you go for the coating. It is $99 well spent if you enjoy the look of your engine compartment.

hey guys I am going to install my stahl header and I was wondering if the coatings which I believe are ceramic are worth while. I have been told they prolong the life, keep them looking nice and improve gas flow somehow. Is this worth while? Where should I bring it to have it coated? I am in San Diego. The only place that I was told was good is jet-hot.
thanks
