Isn't Theory in Illinois?? =)

'74tii
Southern California - Nowhere near Theory

FWIW - I've run 87-92 octane in my stock tii without ever hearing it ping. Thats with the timing at about 36 total advance.

Run the lowest octane you can get away with, i.e., no pinging and good performance. Pinging will be aggravated by advanced timing, BTW, so you'll want to make sure that's spec'd out first. Personally, I run 93 or 94 due to the compression, cam and advance my motor likes. Stock, if everything's right (a big "if" on a 24 year old car), you should be able to run regular in theory. But, as the saying goes: "I want to move to Theory - everything works in Theory..."

I have a stock 76 02 with Webber 32/36, no smog, live in No. VA. What grade of gas should I be using? Forgot to ask PO when I bought it and haven't had to refuel yet.
