i went through this problem last week or so. check from the coil to the distibutor, then check each wire to see if each one gets spark. it should still run like that, but you never know. check the point spacing in the distributor, it should be the width of a business card when the lobe is at the highest.
one thing i ran into as well that was a problem last month was the battery ground wire. i still have to fix that. make sure its grounded to the engine. i think the block is supposed to be the best. you can try to sand the contacts to see if that helps.
i am no expert, but i hope this helps. this is what has happened to me, so i thought i would relay it to you.
