76 02 bad news "rust" (archive)

I just finished cleaning up in front of my passenger seat floor and found a very well disguised 3 inch diameter rust hole in the floor it runs from the back edge of the subframe to the edge of the right side seat mount. The PO did a good job of covering this up. The car has new floor segments installed on either side of the subframe. The rust starts at the back edge of the repair. ANY IDEAS on what I should do?
