Ouch! If it's rusted, good chance the driver side is also. To answer your question, it depends on what you are looking for. Digging into it, can get real $$$$. If you don't want water to come up into the carpet, etc. I'd suggest you cut it all out replace the flooring - either weld and paint with POR14 or use re-enforced fiberglass over the hole. Dec. 1999 Bimmer had an article on patching floor pans.
