Grinding Noise while turning (archive)

New noise. When I turn left from a stop and accelerate, I hear a sound that sounds like a metal grinding noise, similar to the noise you hear when you are metal to metal on brakes. Once in a while, I can make this noise while turning right. It is definitely coming from the front end of the car. Can't figure it out. Car is lowered and shocks are weak. There is a spot where the tire rubs the wheel well. I put tape on this spot, made the noise, and the tape was not disturbed. All my front end parts are in good shape as far as I can tell. Any ideas or things I can check?

Ryan
