I am pretty sure the "hotter" model was set up with individual ignition systems for each cyl... i.e. twin 1 bbl carbs, plugs, coils. (Cyl's may have been bored out, also.) Don't know about the dist. Put out SIGNIFICANT horsepower for such a small car.
