If you're referring to the thermal reactors that were found on the US '75 and California '76 2002, I think you need to do some additional mods. For one thing, all of the air injection tubes need to be removed. Then, you need to plug off the air injection and EGR ports with some sort of plugs.

The '74 exhaust manifold is basically a tii exhaust manifold with the EGR port machined into it. If you look really close at a tii manifold, you can see the boss already cast into it.

With that much work, I'd opt for find a good used tii manifold. At the '02 Fest, a friend of mine found one for the incredible price of I believe $50.
