There is no such thing as a hotter spark. All spark temperatures are the same; approx 60,000F.
The difference is in the spark duration and the air gap that the spark can jump.

The Bosch red coil is superior to the blue coil in every way. It does need a ballast resistor to keep from burning points. An electronic trigger could be used without the ballast resistor.

Multiple sparks only work below about 1800 RPMs, after that it is only one spark, just like points or any other ignition.
