is there a gasket between the transmission and the engine? i think that is where my oil leak is coming from. the engine i bought has a slight leak and the may be it. the oil seems to be coming from there. i have crawled under the car when on some small jack stands and poked around, but i cant pin point the leak. is this seems like it could be it let me know. i am going to replace lots of gaskets anyhow, but i thought i would ask just in case.

More often than not, oil dripping from that location comes from leaks somewhere else.
Oil leaks from as far forward as the front crank pulley seal can & will hit the "inspection" plate at the front of the trans, collect & drip from the spot you are seeing.
You need to clean everything, remove the inspection cover to view the engine side of the flywheel (this is where the rear main seal leak would show itself), and check all the various 02 oil leak trouble spots.
Sometimes a dry tracing powder (try a spray deodorant, if nothing else is avaiable) will show a leak on a cleaned surface. Fluorescent dye in the engine oil viewed under black light is my favorite, that's what the car companies use.
