The Close-ratio 5 spd is a cool box and very rare - I think barely 3000 left Germany in the 02's as original options - so I'll probably keep mine so my car is original etc. For daily driving though, I think the 4 spd is better way to go or maybe an upgrade to a later 5 spd. From experience i can say that grinding through that extra gear is alot of hassle when the final drive ratio is the same at the end. Good luck with find the Getrag.
