A few questions:
1. I had to be towed in from the outskirts of Houston; the car basically started to sputter and stall, and eventually just quit. This, after running very well for about 250 miles. After it stopped, it wouldn't even turn over. The battery is new as of this morning, so I am thinking alternator/voltage regulator problem. If I replace these two, am I on the right track?
2. Any tii mechanics that anyone knows of in the Houston area?
I have been looking for a tii for a long time, after having been an owner of two normal 02s (73 Verona and 74 Malaga). Nice to be back. This is a great forum, and I am looking forward to some great advice and also keeping you posted on my progress on this renovation!

Congrats! Cuppla things on your stall out. Alt/Reg/Batt is a good place to start and while you are at it be sure to run a PHAT ground (10 or 12 Gauge) from the alternator frame to the battery neg terminal. If you don't already know it, 02's are quite prone to ground circuit gremlins.
You might also change/check the fuel filters, which would be good advice regardless. There's a screen on the tank pickup, another in the fuel inlet of the KF pump (behind the inlet banjo) and of course the main fuel filter. Cuppla points on these. The standard 02 filter SHOULD NOT be used on the tii due to the higher fuel pressure feeding the injection pump and be very careful with the filter screen on the inlet of the KF pump. As far as I know, the conical screen is NLA and is the last line of defense for the injection pump. 'nuff said. Be very careful with the fuel fittings and copper washers so that you don't have leaks upon start up.
Finally, it would be worth it to replace ALL of the woven fuel lines, especially(!!!) the lines running from the fuel tank to the transfer pump above the rear axle. I'll bet that they are original, and if they're like mine were they'd be ready to bust. New fuel is very hard on them so it compounds the problem.
Hope this helps and isn't a WOB. Post a pic!
