Yes, absolutely change that fuel filter bolted to the radiator bulk-head (USE AN OE METAL ONE!). Check your voltage output with a meter, you need at least 13volts to keep things charged. Also check all of the vaccum lines to be sure none have worked themselves loose, or are spit. Prey its not the fuel pump ($300.00, I've got a good used one if you need it(long story)).

Just got back from Dallas today with my new-to-me 74tii in Turkis. Bought it after reading about it on this list. Needs a few things, mostly paint, but minimal rust. The color is also awfully cool; according to the 02 restoration guide, turkis is not even supposed to be available as a color on the 74 tii.

A few questions:

1. I had to be towed in from the outskirts of Houston; the car basically started to sputter and stall, and eventually just quit. This, after running very well for about 250 miles. After it stopped, it wouldn't even turn over. The battery is new as of this morning, so I am thinking alternator/voltage regulator problem. If I replace these two, am I on the right track?

2. Any tii mechanics that anyone knows of in the Houston area?

I have been looking for a tii for a long time, after having been an owner of two normal 02s (73 Verona and 74 Malaga). Nice to be back. This is a great forum, and I am looking forward to some great advice and also keeping you posted on my progress on this renovation!
