If you haven't already, put the car up on jackstands. That will take the load off of the body structure. I don't think that it will make up all of the difference. You may have to resort to using a bit of mechanical persuasion with a round chisel to get the holes to line up.

I don't recommend redrilling the holes, that would defeat the purpose of a strut brace.
