I would pick up a early 1600, euro body would be the best but say a 69 02 as there bodies are actually lighter than regualar 2002's and then put a 02 racing engine in there, 5 speed and driveline out of 320, etc.... From my experience I have found this the best way, but if you want a real 02, any year is ok, just depends on what you want to do with it, vintage racing wise it's good to get a early 02. But if you don't care any year is good, I wouldn't ruin a tii but you get what I mean, just depends on what options you want, how much you want to pay and what body style you like (round or square).
