You're not the first to have this problem. Maybe Bill in MT can tell us how his efforts turned out. I tried and failed myself, and I've not heard of anyone being successful. OTOH I didn't try all that hard and haven't really looked hard for success stories.

Watch out when you heat the tranny housing, because it's aluminum and may melt or be damaged by too much heat. No O/A torches here.
