Thanks Tim that;s what I'll try...lemme know if you make it down this way, we;ll all have to get together...

Archives have been perused to no avail.

My windows wind down with a substantial amount of effort, especially towards the bottom of its travel. I'll be removing the door panels to clean/lube the locking mechanism, what can I do to help the window-wind action?

Thanks in advance, folks...

Tim, I think that is your best bet, over the years, as your car is 25-26 years old now, the mechanism slows down, greasing/lubing all the window wind components should give you much better results, the bad thing is that the the window regulator, I believe, is made of "white metal", and many years ago when one broke on a 1971 2002 I had, it couldn't be welded back because of the white metal, so keep it lubed and it'll last that much longer, new ones aren't quite an arm and a leg yet but they are getting up there in price. I miss the 2002 terribly!! The 735i is a nice ride but I wish I would have looked longer at least for a 5 speed 5 series, I feel like some kind of executive in this car! I talked to Marty last night, he may go look at a 1972 in your area that is for sale, Atlantik blue/black interior, hey if it is in solid shape I just may have to make a trip down there. Atlantik blue was the color of my first manual transmission 2002, a 1974 '02 I bought in 1985. This 1985 735i is a cruiser, 75mph at 2000rpm's! but still, the 2002 is the car!!! Take care, Tim.
