You also need to take into account the size of tire and rim size. Both items will be factors into determine the wheel circumference.

I vaguely remember in the old '02 Digest archives that the factory never corrected any of the speedometer to account for the different rear end ratios. I recall that all they did was supply a stick on substitue on the face of the speedometer to accomodate people who complained about it.

E-mail me if you want a copy of my spreadsheet that shows the calculated speed per gear at various rpms. It's based on wheel/rim size and rear end ratio.
