where are u located, would love to compare my car with yours. i'm located in sf. thanks, viet
try putting 130 or 135 mains. Go up on your chokes to 32mm's. You can probably go down on your air's but only if you have hesitation on high rpm's. You might be okay with the air's. 30mm chokes are a little too small. 32's are good for street and 34's would be good at track events. Just get some 130's and 135's and try them. The chokes are going to run a little high on cash. Your idles sound good but make sure your idle set screws aren't in too far or out too far(about 1.5 to 2 turns is good). Make sure the carbs are synchronized because that will make all the difference in the world. Just start swapping and testing and pick the ones with best performance. Try some plug cut tests at different rpm's to make sure you are running a good mixture. Mess with your timing to get the best performance at the low end(15-16BTDC at idle, 35-36BTDC max advance). The timing is what alot of the honda guys do to get the low end acceleration. It took me about a month talking to people and reading to get my setup. Basically it's trial and error. But once you have tweaked it right you don't want to stop driving.
Wish I had the higher compression!!! Sounds like you have as much as you can to max your hp on your engine without boring out and popping in bigger pistons. The quickest way to find your best jet setting is to get your spare jets and get your car dyno'd.(about $100-$125)
dan,
i have a 292 cam with 10 to 1 compression and a mild port and polish.
30mm choke tubes
55f8 idle mixture jets
200 air correction jets
115 main jets
i think that the main jet is a bit too small. i'm not sure yet.
What are your jet sizes? You gotta have more than 40's to get the hp up!
man this suck, i just installed my dual 40's and taked the car out for a spin. when i was waiting at a stop light, a civic pull up and started to rev up his engine. i was up to the challege since i just installed my new carb, so when the light turn green off we went. we were head to head until i put it into fourth gear, and the civic was gone.
yes, i know, save this for the track, but i just wanted to see how my car compare to the civic.
people with dual 40's, how fast are your car, and how are u jetting set. thanks, viet
