The best way to do this is to simply remove the windows and trim and cut all 6 roof pillars. The key is to measure very carefully and test fit the windshield and rear window before welding the new roof section on. The welds on the "B" (middle) pillars will be hidden by trim, but you will need to grind and smooth the ones on the "A" and "C" pillars. The sheet metal roof panels are joined to the "C" pillars at the top corners, and these seams are leaded at the factory, so you want to cut about halfway down the "C" pillar to avoid damage to the lead joints. I did a roof transplant on a '73 a few years ago, and it worked out fine, but if you are not an accomplished MiG welder or do not have the equipment, this is a job best left to a body shop.
